Algerians are in great fear as her government announced their first case of novel coronavirus on Tuesday, the victim being an Italian who arrived in their country on 17th February.

“One case was confirmed positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), out of two suspected cases (both) of Italian nationality,” said the North African country’s health ministry.

Algerian state television stated that the infected person has been isolated and has refused to give further details into the case.

Monitoring has been reinforced and surveillance systems have been placed at every point of entry into Algeria, according to the country’s health ministry.
