All you need to know about Nigeria’s 2020 Visa Policy
Today, Tuesday, February 4th, 2020, President Buhari presented the Nigerian Visa Policy (NVP) at the State House in Abuja. The reviewed version of the Nigerian Visa Policy is built to enhance the country’s economic recovery and growth plan.
Speaking during the presentation, President Buhari intimated that the review of the Nigerian visa policy is poised to attract innovation, specialized skills and foreign innovations to complement local ones.
The revised version of the Nigerian visa policy has 79 visa classifications, one of which is the Visa on arrival. The new policy which grants Africans who wish to come to the country for a short visit valid passport, for businesses, and for tourism legal stay for up to 90 days, backs President Buhari’s previous announcement of visa on arrival to all African travelers starting from January 2020.

“We in Nigeria have already taken the strategic decision to bring down barriers that have hindered the free movement of our people within the continent by introducing the issuance of a visa at the point of entry into Nigeria to all persons holding passports of African countries with effect from January 2020.”
